Utilizing & Recycling
the “Spent” Inca Presswood
Pallet
Litco International Inc. has recognized the need and is dealing with
the issue of recycling the Inca presswood products. There are several methods of re-use of “spent” presswood pallets
to extend their material’s useful life in other areas. Presented
below you will find a partial list of successful applications that
are currently in use. These applications are mutually beneficial to
industry and to the environment.
New Inca Presswood Pallets
“Spent” Inca Presswood Pallets are ground into wood fibers,
recycled, reprocessed and used in manufacturing new Inca Pallets.
Boiler Fuel
“Spent” Incas are ground up at the Inca Pallet plant
in Mississippi and used as boiler feed stock to provide energy for
manufacturing new Inca Pallets. Additional grinding operations in central
Ohio grind “spent” Inca Pallets that are used to produce
energy at a paper mill.
Top Soil
“Spent” Inca Presswood Pallets are recycled by a northern
Ohio top soil producer. They are combining the “spent” Incas
with leaves and grass clipping into a first-grade top soil.
Turkey Bedding
In central Iowa, “spent” Inca Presswood Pallets are presently
converted into turkey bedding. Through a multi-stage grinding process,
the pallets are processed to the size and texture necessary.
Livestock Bedding
At a mid-western Ohio location, “spent” Inca Presswood
Pallets are ground and used in a controlled dairy farm for the absorption
of urine and manure. Once used in this process, the bedding goes through
a secondary recycling process to be used again in the same application.
Floor Absorbent
In northeastern Illinois, “spent” Inca Pallets are mixed
with other materials to create an absorbent floor maintenance compound
to clean up spills.
Composting
Extensive research and testing has been completed by the Ohio Agricultural
Research and Development Center which states that Inca Pallets can
be converted into compost material.
Continually Looking To The Future
Litco is committed to explore and develop new methods for recycling “spent” Inca
Pallets and will continue to in the future.

Affairs Department at info@litco.com.
