Litco International Inc., Molded Products Group is the exclusive North American source for Inca “Gold” Presswood Pallets. We began in 1962 as a regional broker/distributor of wooden pallets and lumber.

Our company evolved as the premier manufacturer of wooden pallets in the mid 1970’s. At that time, we expanded our sales territory to include all states east of the Rocky Mountains. We owned and operated two sawmills and four pallet manufacturing locations. We began manufacturing our own wooden pallets because as a broker, we could not control the raw material quality, finished products and the deliveries, which resulted in customer dissatisfaction.

Our company was one of the initial contributors to the Pallet Design Software Program (PDS) designed by Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI), and U.S. Forest Products Laboratory in Princeton, WV. We were 1 of 5 companies to be the first to load the program in a commercial environment and use in the sales field as a design and selling tool. Our feedback to VPI aided in the debugging process.

In addition, we are also a supporter and contributor to the WM Sardo Pallet and Container Laboratory at VPI.

Litco was awarded the prestigious “Select Supplier Award” by the Campbell Soup Co. for reducing pallet-related costs. We designed and manufactured a high-quality pallet using the “PDS” program to replace cheap wooden pallets purchased solely on lowest price. Our pallet design proved to have a longer life and reduce product damages related to wooden pallets. That meant less repacks at the customer level greatly reducing customer dissatisfaction.

Litco was one of the first domestic suppliers to CHEP USA and in a separate Litco facility, CHEP pallets were reconditioned for return and reuse to the market.

The first Presswood Pallet plant opened in 1979. The second plant opened in 1990.

We were the sole source supplier for the USPS for presswood pallets for 17 years until 1996. Furthermore, we were one of the top 10 vendors to the USPS. At their request, we increased our press capacity and operated our plants at seven days a week, 24 hours per day, for over three years, enabling us to respond to their requirements.

In 1998, we sold our conventional wooden pallet operations to concentrate on the further development of the Inca Presswood 3-Dimensional Product Line. We believed that Inca provided the market with a consistent quality product at a fair price for the value based on customers. A major advantage environmentally of the Inca process is the utilization of low-grade pre-and post-consumer wood waste that might otherwise go to the landfills; a positive impact on the environment.

This year, Litco celebrates its 40th year of serving our customer’s material handling needs. Through these years, we have experienced many successes. We have embraced industry change and have supported new technologies at our expense and often without a direct return to Litco, all to better serve and enhance your industry and the markets that we serve.

Our current product line includes: Presswood Pallets, separator Boards and Core Plugs. Litco also offers Plastic Pallets and Air-Inflatable Dunnage Bags. Our reputation speaks for itself. We have a high customer retention rate because we deliver a high, consistent quality product that offers many usage benefits at a fair market price. This, combined with our superior customer service means that we are committed to being a key supplier for many years in the markets that we serve.

Our group has over 120 years of experience in the pallet business; an average of over 11 years each. Most have designed and sold wooden pallets as well.

Our Engineers and Application/Sales Consultants are trained in all aspects of horizontal material handling equipment in which our products interface. We are comfortable working in the plant with the direct labor force to understand their needs and communicate the best use of the Inca products. We are used to rolling up our sleeves and getting the job done.
